Spa
Did you know that NONA has a late night rerun at 2:30 am? I didn’t. Now that I’m watching it, I feel like getting a Tun Teja spa at that spa place in KL they featured. It looks fun. It’s a full body thing, including a flower bath! The water was white and the tub was filled with orchids! Wouldn’t that make you feel like a princess? ^_^
Talking of princesses, I recently have been reading about life in the middle ages. It’s not exactly fun, but it’s just interesting to know.
Did you know why brides carry a bouquet of flowers? During the middle ages, people take their annual baths in May. So by June they still smelled pretty good. It’s summer so a lot of people prefer to marry by then therefore a "June bride" eh? anyway, brides carry flowers to cover their body odours. It’s probably of little wonder why weddings are always full of flowers. The guests must smelled pretty bad xD.
Oh, oh another interesting thing. During the middle ages, when they ran out of land to bury the dead, they would dug up the old graves and put the bones in a "Bone-house". But when they open the coffins, they found scratch marks under the lid, which meant they had been burying live people (approximately 1 out of 25 of the coffins had scratch marks). So to avoid this, they would tie a string to the dead person’s wrist, which would be tied to a bell. A person would stay and wait on the bell, in case it rings, called the "graveyard shift", waiting for a "dead ringer", and when one was found alive, they would be "saved by the bell". Geddit? xD
I dont have the link to that website right now, but I’m looking for more terms that originated from the middle ages. I found the origin of ‘thresh hold’ and ‘posies’. I’m looking for more :D.
And man I so want to go to the spa. Anyone wanna join me?
Ta’ra!
