High Maintenance

Tonight my aunt came over and we talked about stuff. A lot of stuff. Somehow it was revealed that my cousin and I shared the same preference in marrying foreigners. I always have this thought that I will someday marry outside my race. It’s just a feeling I have :/.

When asked why, I can’t really tell. It’s just a preference. But it’s still a long ways away so I can dream, can’t I?

Once again, I am watching a late night show rerun of Gedik Santai because I’m procrastinating from playing FF12.

Don’t ask.

Anyway, their topic was ‘high maintenance’. I think I am one of those high maintenance girls, but I keep my high-maintenanceness to a minimum. I mean, it’s not that I do it on purpose, some things I use daily just come expensive and it can’t be helped because I have a very selective skin.

On the show they talked about how high maintenance girls are into branded stuff. While it’s true, they don’t buy branded stuff just for the sake of it being branded (okay sometimes they do) but if they can’t afford it, that’s that, you know. No point in burning your money on stuff you don’t need. I relate it to myself.

I sometimes thought of myself as not one who wear branded stuff all the time, but when I stopped myself walking around the mall one day and looked into the mirror, I looked at my clothes, from my shirt to pants and shoes and realized I may even be a high maintenance girl after all. For one I like to shop, but I’ve stopped buying clothes from random shops and buy only from the brands I like. They are more expensive, so you buy less and only get the one you really want. This way your stuff lasts longer, are prettier, and you are not tempted to buy about four of the same thing just because they are cheap, therefore not crowding your closet with all the same things.

Yeah, I learned my lesson the hard way.

At least when you’re married to someone whose home country’s currency is higher than yours the burden of high maintenanceness is less. So you see why I want to marry an ang moh? Though someone from the Middle East is not too bad too. I mean, Oman’s currency is x10 while Kuwait’s is x12. Hehehehe.

Another thing, after my sis graduated high school, she received a lot of wedding invitations from her high school friends. A lot of my cousin’s friends got married too, soon after high school and she was only one year older than me. I wonder when I’m gonna start receiving wedding invitations too?

I was pretty disappointed when my cousin canceled her wedding this year end. I so want to go to a wedding of someone I actually know. Yeah, yeah I was just looking forward to the wedding cake. Even if I don’t like you, I’d still go if you have a decent wedding cake. :D

Man I’m so bad.

So make sure when you invite me to your wedding you have a wedding cake for me to look forward to, aye?

Ta’ra!
