Escapist Antics
This is the antics of someone who’s escaping harsh reality, thus; Escapist Antics.
It’s not that I wasn’t able to blog, I was just too lazy too. I shall pick up where I left off; That day I said I was going out for lunch and dinner with daddy. So out we went. For lunch it was Thai Express where I have their heavenly roast beef and fried squid and softshell crab. Then for dinner I was finally able to go to this restaurant at Pyramid, Rainforest Bistro. It really felt like a forest in there.
Saw the review in NTV7’s Life! Session show. I ate a very big tenderloin steak, which, despite its juiciness, I wasn’t able to finish. Seriously, this thing could feed three people!
Anyway, the next day, daddyo went back to Kuching while I went to KL, to spend money and get me my birthday prezzie!
This year my birthday prezzies all came in the form of cash. My sisters just gave me cash to let me buy stuff I want. Very nice. So I asked for a wallet and a book. And told them the price. After I got the dosh I went and bought them. Hehehehe.
But first, my birthday cakes! I have two this year. The first, my mom’s horlicks layer cake, with random chocolate bars in one of the lower layers.
And my mom didn’t even bother breaking them into small squares, so you have a very wide chunk down there, making cutting hard.
Next, my ‘official’ birthday cake. This is the first cake I bought for myself outside of home, which is kinda funky hehehe.
So….marble cheesecake anyone?
Okay, back to my presents, which I bought myself by the way.
My old wallet was so kesian I thought it’s about time I get a new one. And now I finally have a TOUGH wallet yay! I can’t put it in my back pocket since it’s too big, but I thought I might get a smaller one (still TOUGH’s) and it would fit in my back pocket hehehe. But I’m not complaining as things are right now.
Next, I got me the book. This is supposedly from my younger sister. The cash she gave was actually short by ten ringgit, but fortunately I got a 20% discount for being an MPH card member. Whee!
It’s a story about a skeleton detective. Thanks to reading the latest chapters of One Piece, I actually found skeletons to be quite sexy :D. Especially if they spurt an afro ^^. Skulduggery doesn’t have hair unfortunately but at least he can form fire in his hand (though he does wear a fizzy hair wig).
Hehehehehe…
While I was buying Skulduggery Pleasant, I found…
LADY FRIDAY!!!!!
I immediately grabbed for it! Without a second thought! The fifth book to the Keys to the Kingdom series is finally out! I was so happy I was so glad I didn’t get swayed into buying a more expensive wallet at TOUGH.
Previous books in the series are Mister Monday, Grim Tuesday, Drowned Wednesday and Sir Thursday. Which means, after Lady Friday, there are going to be two more; Superior Saturday and Lord Sunday. Notice how the names got more and more superior as the days progress? The titles represent the main villain in each book, and according to the author, the seven villains each personify one deadly sin, from the 7 deadly sins. I could pretty much figure out who is what hehehe. This series is not as highly commercialized as the Harry Potter series, which adds to its charm. It’s so low key but awesome nonetheless.
Oooh I’m getting the jitters. I think I might not be able to resist and will succumb to ready Lady Friday after this. Gaaah I wanted to save that book for later, but it seems resistance is futile.
Sighs.
Ta’ra!

The original price for skulduggery was 59.90, but after discount it was around 48. It’s all for the sake of lo-o-o-o-o-ve :D.
