Weekend Away A Trend
This weekend I’m going back to BB again since on Saturday I’m going to Genting with a bunch of friends. Those same bunch of friends I have invited to sleep over since we’re leaving early in the morning and my place is obviously closer and more comfortable than their other alternatives.
My family just went home to Kuching today so it’s a little sad to see the once-lively apartment becomes quiet again (I know our downstairs neighbour aka Mr. Chan, would be delighted :P). BUT! Mr. Chan is not going to get his wish. Well not quite. Since I have those bunch of friends over and who knows if we’ll stay quiet enough for his hyper-sensitive ears. In fact, I plan to be intentionally noisy just so he’d complain then I’ll complain to the guard that I’m complaining against Mr. Chan back for complaining against us too much. How’s that??
Seriously, that guy has issues. If he’s too bothered by the noise he might as well just move out and live in a solitary house in the middle of the desert. Unless the desert is not quiet enough for him, that is.
I mean, who complains about a fracture of a second running noise in the house anyway!?
Aaaanyway. I noticed lately that I’ve been spending more and more time away for the weekend. The last time I spent my weekend at the hostel was that weekend of Aoi’s birthday and yet I went to visit that Omani friend’s house on Saturday. After that weekend, I went to Shah Alam and the next weekend, my family came over (where I did a lot of overdue shopping) and this weekend I’m going to Genting. And of course, next weekend is Chinese New Year so I’m going to be at neither because I’m going back to Kuching :D. And thanks to AirAsia flights being full, I have the luxury of taking a MAS flight and taking off from classy KLIA instead of the packed and depressing LCCT. Obviously low-fare airlines are not my cup of tea. But travelling as often as I am now, what choice do I have? sighs.
Now that I remember it, I think I might even be gone for the weekend coming back from CNY. I promised Khaye I’d take her and her friends sightseeing around KL. She said she’s been here for about a month already and she’d wanna at least see KL once. Look at me! Being a tourist guide! I have never even been to KL Tower! Hahahaha!
Khaye and her Kenyan friends apparently are not very close to a lot of locals. That’s pretty understandable since not a lot of locals attend the uni. You get a lot of outstation Malaysian students but not Selangor- or KL-locals. I kinda feel sorry for them since they are really nice people. Most of the local Malaysian students are afraid of them and for what? Because they - the Malaysian students - can’t converse English well!
And this, everyone, is according to the African students themselves. They would approach someone (a Malaysian student) and they would shy away because they can’t speak English well!! I’m telling you, these foreigners should just go to Sarawak where most people’s English are good! The people here are giving a bad image to Malaysians.
You see, these African students have American-standard English so Manglish are complicated for them. Seems like I’m one of the rare ones who speak standard English without the la, lah, lor, ma, meh, ka, kah etc. Or awkward sentences like ‘can or not’ or ‘this is cannot’. Wahahaha.
In order to prepare for that, this weekend I shall need to study a route suiting our foreign friends. Like, where to go, how to get there and stuff and what interesting things to do. It might be interesting since there are places I wanna go to too hehehe.
Woo my tickets for my CNY break just came!
Ta’ra!
