Busy Hands Make Me Happy

Friday, September 29th, 2006

I amazed myself at the progress I made in my little comic. Yes, I have begun drawing comics again just for the sake of it. Drawing in a big book is definitely better than in a small exercise book. More space you know. I think the reason I’ve made so much progress is because I didn’t bother with too much complicated details. If there’s an angle or perspective that I’m not sure how to draw, I’ll leave it and move on.

Of course, pretty picture is important but so is progress. Like most people I know, they prefer to know more about the story than how well or neatly the characters are drawn. Besides, no one else but the artist pays attention to details.

Sighs. But still, it makes me happy. Lately I have begun making cards too. I have to print out some stuff first though. They are nothing too special. Most are just spin-offs from someone’s birthday card I made recently (Kaoru overload heheh).

I need a challenge. With challenge I can get more creative.

Okay I’ll be honest. I decided to make my own cards because I couldn’t resist the fancy papers on sale. There. Happy?

Norton is bugging me to restart after a virus update. Ta’ra.

My room bebeh

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

It’s the white tile floor I’m telling you! They are the villains! I mean, back home my room was parquet flooring so I can’t see much of the dust and the hair. But here I am bothered to sweep the floor at least once a week. Because I can see the hair all over the place. sighs.

You know what? The more I clean this place, the more I realize how the previous tenants had lived like a pig. They moved out about three days before I move in. But when I moved in, there were dusty webs all over the door frame and the fan was nearly invisible underneath all that dust. Come on! Those dusts couldn’t have accumulated in a few days could they?

Exactly!

And to top it all off, there were three girls in this room before. Not even one of them was bothered by it!? I’m telling you, these people are insane. I mean sure, they had only lived her for 3-6 months or so since the room they wanted wasn’t available yet. Even if their stay had been temporary, is it so hard to clean their own room?? When I came here, the first thing I did was heavy cleaning. There’s just no way I’m going to sleep with a dust-infested fan. I even cleaned out the doorframe just because!

I was not going to stay overnight in a filthy room, so regardless if it was mine or not, I will clean it first. But I guess the previous tenants had thought since they own none of the stuff in here they just didn’t care.

The attitude people have.

When I came here I didn’t waste time to make it look like my room. It took a while but I’ve added posters to cover the table, replaced the drabby white curtains and stuffed books on the other desk. I still have to get rid of the newspapers covering the lower half of the window (since its a full-lenght window) and give the window a good wash but at least it looks more livable. If you ask me: "would you do all this even if you were moving out next month?"

My answer is yes.

Of course I wouldnt put up the curtains and posters. I’m talking about the going all out on the cleaning stuff.

But mehhh I don’t even like the previous tenants. It took me a lot of pestering to get them to pay their overdue bills. Thanks to their delaying and whining about asking for discounts coz they are away for weeks for a holiday (so technically they are not around for a full month), the accumulated bill for each individual was RM 35.86. One of them paid only 30, the other hadnt paid at all. Then I pestered my classmate who is their roommate in their new pad. In addition to the remaining 5.80, I even got the other 35.80 from the other girl. If I had had it my way, I would ask for the 6 cents too you know.

But this room has me now. It even has a distinct strawberry scent. Tee hee hee.

Kyo wa tanoshii

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

Oh man I’m so full I can barely walk. And this bearing in mind my last meal was about two hours ago. What I ate I can barely remember.

Anyway I’ve only been watching Paradise Kiss again and I just got Saiunkoku Monogatari episode 17. Shi Ryuuki is as cute as ever. tee hee hee.

Ahem. Today was pretty interesting. Normally I’d be pissed from the beginning to the end of the class in Economics. But today there was this little exercise see and so I like, did it too. There were two possible answers to this exercise question and to get the right one, there’s a little further calculation.

The possible answers were 5 and 6.

I caught the glint in the lecturer’s eyes and noticed there was something else needed to decide the answer so I went and made further calculations. And I got the right answer. So I said:

"Is it six?"

Then there’s this girl who was always ‘competing’ with me quickly said "five!".

I nearly stuck my tongue out at her.

Then the lecturer smiled, and he looked at the other girl and said "<insert name here> check your answer."

I silently salute myself for this personal victory and went "HAH! Beat that!" in my head.

Mwahahahaha!

As childish as it may seem, it was fun. She is surely a thing to keep me amused in class. Since she was always looking for opportunities to one-up me. I welcome it of course. If there’s no such thing it would be a bit boring. Man maybe I should do this more often. Picking on other people sure is fun.

Hahahahaha!

Waaah people are going to say I’m evil. But I’m already evil you know. So bleh.

Ta’ra!

I’m alive!

Hmm hmm. I was in a really good mood today. Which was rare. Daddyo stopped over while waiting for his flight to Dublin tonight. He had won tickets to the PGA Tour or some major golf tournament and will be there until the 26th or the 27th. Waaah he’ll get to puasa there too! Anyway, I asked him to get me an I love Dublin t-shirt hahaha. We had lunch together and I get to buy books hehehehe.

Today I also watched the first three eps of Paradise Kiss. I thought it was all serious and stuff but it had funny SD modes hahaha. The characters’ face went all oval like a football! So yeah, the anime receives a two thumbs up from me :D. Although, VCD quality would seem like crap compared to the DVD quality pictures I’m used to, but the plus side is that the subs are more accurate. Even though I still have to endure the Chinese subs. Two subs can sometimes take up almost half of the screen. Grrr…

Anyway, puasa starts next week. Which means, mooncake time is drawing near! Mehehehehehe!

Ta’ra!

USTBOSH for the weekend

Sunday, September 17th, 2006

haa~ I spent the weekend at my unofficial soon to be official second home (USTBOSH) at Bukit Bintang. I went there primarily because my friend wanted to buy a handphone since her last one got stolen. Our initial plan was also to leave on Saturday and come back Sunday. But our Saturday replacement class got canceled so we went on Friday and stayed for two nights! :D

For one it was such a relieve to leave this place for a while and get back to some familiar surrounding, and two, well…it’s alway nice shopping in BB anyway. Hehehe. Besides, I’m looking for a few animes and what better place than BB eh?? I was looking for Hana Yori Dango’s VCD and Paradise Kiss. I got Paradise Kiss mostly because it was everywhere. I bought VCD even though the DVD is only twice the VCD price. VCD = 14.90, DVD = 29.90, geddit?

Paradise Kiss is playing on Animax; one of the reasons I’m getting the VCD. It looks like a cool anime and I don’t like waiting for stuff on air for once a week and moreso we don’t have Astro here :P. And since I ain’t that keen on the anime, I bought VCD cause it’s cheaper. Usually I’d get DVD but the subbing sucks.

Oh yeah, I found Hana Yori Dango but the VCDs are all Chinese versions. They have complete DVD sets but that costs 201 ringgit. Like hell. I’m just going to wait the DVDrips to finish downloading. It may take a while, but I have prioritized the first 4-5 files so they download faster. Now the first five eps are all 90% above. But of course, being impatient that I am, I watched them anyway. There were some gaps but too diminutive to disrupt the story. Actually, that night when I was watching them, I was halfway through Keeping Mum. I paused the movie the whole time to watch Hana Yori Dango hehehe.

Man my laundry basket is near to overflowing. It’s a little visit to the laundrette tomorrow for me. Hehehe. Ta’ra.

p/s coming back here, I got on one of the longest bus rides ever. It wasn’t nice when you had to stand for more than half of the way here.

My brain is deteriorating

Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

When I saw people putting up pics of Swinburne I was suddenly, painfully aware how much I missed that place. I mean,  Swinburne was one of those places where I actually chose to go to and was very content to be there. But here, this place was just a substitue. The actual place I wanna go…sighs. And this place has proven to be more and more boring as days go by. My intellectual stamina is rapidly diminishing and my brain is nearly deceased from all the inactivity.

I don’t care if people think I’m talking big. I’m just saying the truth. It’s as if the lecturers don’t even care about our education at all. They never come to class on time and are always the first to leave when class dismisses, they make us listen to them and not ask questions (ask if you want, but they won’t answer you straight away), never give homework or make an effort to help you understand the lesson more and basically showing off that they know everything more than you.

What the fuck.

I’m telling you, I’m getting out of here the moment I see a chance to. The only thing that’s keeping to this place is that our apartment has good internet connection. And was easy to install too.

I’m just hoping and hoping and hoping that when the uni moves, things would get better and I don’t have to suffer neglected intellectual again. That’s why  I said, when I succeed, it’s got nothing to do with the university or its lecturers. It’s because I want to get away with flying colors so I would get admitted into another university easily.

And that is all. See ya.

I don’t have a life

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

Lately I’ve been feeling that my life here is just getting meaningless day by day. I mean, all that I’ve been doing is download anime. Heck - I even watch anime here more than I do at home! And at such miraculous speed too!

Yesterday alone I completed the 16 eps of Saiunkoku Monogatari that I have (cant wait for more! :D) then I found Princess Princess, found it good, now downloading more, and then, woah, Hana Yori Dango Live Action! It’s the original name for Meteor Garden. I saw the first ep and found it tremendously better than the Taiwanese live action. I mean, at least this school (yes its a school, not a college) actually looked like an elite school you know. Although of course, the guys in the Taiwanese version was way better than the Japs one (though Vanness and his lot still cant act). I watch it mainly because I think the lead female reminds me of Sailor Mars in Sailor Moon live action and I’m a big fan of Sailor Mars :D. I’ve checked though. They may look similar, but they are not the same person.

Funny enough, there’s only 9 eps. But that’ll do heh. I’m also downloading Dir en Grey’s Withering to Death album. I’m totally hooked to the song The Final. I’ll post up the clip on my page soon :D. And I don’t like a lot of Dir en Grey songs although Toshiya their bassist is one of my biatches. :D

I’ll stuff The Final and Michiavellism into Katan hehehe.

I also even had Kuja pulled an all-nighter last night. Don’t tell me it’s not good. I know that already. But I had a lot of downloads going on. Everything was done by noon today. Hahahaha!

<paused to watch Yokan pop jam live>

Err yeah, Yokan is my number one favorite song right now (has been, since I first listened to it actually), even surpassing Hyde’s Hello. I think it was one of Dir en Grey’s rarer pop-rock like number. Admittedly Die was amazing pulling that guitar solo.

I’ve been meaning to go to Binary Night dressed as Toshiya but I’m still trying to persuade someone to dress as Kaoru so we can go and do fanservice!

Well, either way, once that costume is done, there’s no turning back…

Last night when Totchi told me about her possible essay plight, I got kind of jealous. I mean, all I’ve been doing is go to class and shop afterwards. I’ve been expecting at least some work, but there was none! I only got one assignment and it will be due in another life time. Well, I wanna try to do something intellectually challenging too. Like, do essay homeworks or minor assignments. This isn’t fair D:!!

My dad sent me here to study but most of the time I’m watching anime! Gaaah stupid lecturers give me something to do damn it!

You can take my word that when I pass the exams with straight A+, I’m gonna contribute none of my success to my lecturers.

Especially my economics one. He’s a bit of a racist, I’m not sure, or maybe he just disliked me. I joined the class late, see, about the third or second lesson. In our class there were only two girls of his own race and some guys. But not a lot. Mostly foreigners. Anyway, the stuff he’s teaching us, all I have learned, so naturally I always volunteered answers in his class, participating, while everyone else was in reserved silence. But you know, each time I answer, he’ll just say "that is okay, BUT…" However, if it was one of the girls of his own race, he’ll say "That’s a good answer." and proceeded to correct her. EVEN WHEN SHE JUST READ THEM OFF THE TEXTBOOK!!

When I  opened the textbook he said to please not use the textbook coz he preferred us to answer our own (even though I’m only just looking for further clarification since I already know the answer’s not there) but when that girl read direct from the book, he said ‘good’! I was like, "wtf!"

Then, in our latest class, I purposely stayed quiet to give others a chance to answer. But people kept giving the wrong answers or just repeating someone else’s response. Unsatisfied, the lecturer asked more people, avoiding me on purpose. Frustrated, I overrode his voice and answered. Thankfully, he finally managed to move on with the lessons.

But then, when the class paused for a break, he glanced my way and said to the class to not sleep during his lessons.

I hate him.

"The lesser of the wits" (Totchi, 2006)

I’m off to do soemthing more constructive. Ta’ra.

The story goes on

Friday, September 8th, 2006

You know what? I think people should surely give notification once they blog. Its very mafan to check each blog individually :/.

So continuing from my moon cake story, Muni came over on tuesday (that girl’s got perseverance, connecting LRT stations and busses…). It was a little late than she expected but anyway, she got here so we had lunch at Kenny Rogers before she followed me home hehehe. Then we hung out eating mooncakes and drinking Japanese green tea while watching anime. My depression was gone for as long as she was here that day. So happy.

As I watched her ascending the bus to get home, I was hoping that I could stick with her longer coz there’s nobody here who knows me well enough for me to complain about things. Yes, I complain a lot. That’s why I have multiple blogs. savvy?

Anyway, all four mooncakes were finished that day. When Muni was around we took half of each cake, then the other halves were then reduced to quarters and I leave muni a quarter of each for her to tapao. The remaining quarters that added up to roughly one whole cake I ate that night with my homies. One of them wasn’t around in the day so I saved them specifically for her. Aren’t I nice?

Yesterday I went to Tesco with one of my classmates. I dragged her there to accompany me to mail a letter. Then I found out there’s a Baskin Robbins there so I was forced to eat ice cream too. Then it rained then we were forced to stay indoors until the rain recedes and do some unconditional shopping. See, we were forced. It was against our own will. Honestly.

From there I bought a set of strawberry scented candles. I want my room to smell of something sweet at least, you know. I thought maybe I should had just get the incense burner and scent bottles. But since I already have some at home, that would be a waste. My first candle is all watery already but I wont extinguish it until it’s totally useless.

Today I finally get to eat at Sushi King. Last night it was too packed for us to squeeze our butts in there.

And for two nights in a row I’ve been up watching Saiunkoku Monogatari. I actually planned to watch just one before bed, but I ended up watching seven. Sighs. Then last night I watched till episode 12. Then I finished the rest of the four eps today. It has 39 eps and only 16 are out on fansub for now. Damn good anime. I know Muni likes the elder brother of the Emperor, Seiran (for obvious reasons) and I like him too, but I prefer the Emperor himself, Ryuuki, because he is also hot and has a very cute personality. Seiran can be too passive sometimes.

Anyway, ta’ra for real. Ta’ra!

I have mooncakes!!!!

Monday, September 4th, 2006

Yay I have mooncakes! Cake_bag Cake_box Moony I bought four coz you get 15% off if you do. That is, if you have a J-card. But I don’t, so the salesgirl borrowed it from someone else. Long story short, I got 15% off. they cost about 9-10 each all in all was 31 ringgit something. I bought Japanese green tea to eat it with. Since you know, the cakes are sweet and stuff and the tea is like, a bit bitter and…tangy?

To be honest, I was spoilt for choice in terms of flavours for these cakes. But I kept my sight straight and bought lotus with no yolk first. Then I took low sugar white lotus, Jade custard and jade and chocolate :D. I was torn between jade and chocolate with coffee cheese. But either way, the jade chocolate was the last one so I went with that. Besides, the next stall had loads of raspberry and cheese mooncakes so I’m not limting myself with anything. tee hee hee.

Muni said she’s coming tomorrow (today?) since she couldn’t make it today (yesterday?) due to heavy rain. But anyway, I guess she could come earlier tomorrow since well, I have no class yay! And we can have mooncakes and tea while watching anime on Kuja. :D

I even took some spoonful of cough drop to prepare for tomorrow. wheee. I am soo excited!! mooncake, mooncake, mooooooncaaaake!!

Tonight I will be sleeping without a fan though. My next door homies kidnapped it while I was napping today. Marrick will be spending the night with them since well, I could do with a few nights without him. Besides, I always find sleeping with a fan bothersome and would prefer not to if I have the chance. Anyway, my room has a wide window and their room housed two people and no window to the open space like me. I’m known not to be picky about under what conditions I sleep when I am outside of the house now. The point is that I get a good rest. And I always do when My Lover is with me :D.

Then again, I wonder if I’ll be able to sleep at all tonight. I just had a nap from 5:30 to 7:30 because there was a blackout and I didn’t feel like doing much work when I came back from college and mooncake shopping. Furthermore, I was tired from all the walking. I even showered straight away when I came back coz it was hot and I was sweating like a pig. hehe.

Oh yeah, before I go heh. It took a lot of persuasion, but Kuja finally recognized Katan. So now I can finally show off some pics. That’s all heh.

Ah well. Ta’ra!

Of mooncakes and tea

Sunday, September 3rd, 2006

Hello! It’s currently the moon cake festival thing going on. I am not sure when is EXACTLY the moon cake festival going on, but the moon cakes are already on the shelves so I’m just waiting for the most opportune time to buy them :D. Muni said she’s coming over tomorrow so I will go buy some and we can have mooncakes and tea while watching anime on Kuja. Am so excited! xD

My homies are also hoping that I would just buy them and get over it coz they are probably already sick of hearing me chanting mooncake each time there’s a commercial on TV and our attention are on something else other than what we were watching. When I first mentioned my desire for some mooncakes and tea, one of my homies said I have the preference of an old person D:. But I am not an old person. I just want mooncake and tea ]:|…

Either way, it’s just an excuse to celebrate something. I might start celebrating mooncake fest every year just to brighten up my dull university life here. In addition, I might even start celebrating Hyde’s and Toshiya’s birthday just for the sake of looking odd. Besides, what’s wrong with being odd?

Or maybe just something for my homies to talk about with their friends. I don’t really care.

Today I woke up quite early, at 10.26 am. Considering I slept close to 4 am. But now it’s also 2.10 am and tomorrow I have class!

I spent most of the day reading the latest Artemis Fowl book, Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony. I haven’t finish it yet but close to getting there. After I stopped, I took out the previous Artemis Fowl series and started decoding the Gnommish letterings lining the foot of the pages. Was most enjoyable.

In addition, I asked my sis to get me this book The Google Story since I might need it for an assgnment. But even if I don’t, I suppose it will still be a fun read if you don’t get too technical about it.

I’m going to go research a bit about Hyde. And man, he had a son! Not a daughter as I have always believed. So many things are a mystery to Mister Hideto Takarai.

Ta’ra!
