Haaa~ a warm glass of milk after your daily crunches is so nice :D. I got this milk idea from that site I posted a few days back. You know, the recipe to flat abs in 3 days. It says to drink warm milk with honey before bed. That’s just what I’m doing. What I do is pour milk in a glass to measure out how much I need. Since I’m not using milk powder, I have to heat the milk. Then I pour the milk into a bowl and microwave it. Microwave is a heating wonder. It’s a great way to heat stuff that’s already liquid. Because microwave activates the hidrogen molecules in food to heat them. That’s why it’s not good for baking and for pizza and bread. Sure, pizza gets heated, but once it cools down, it turns to rocks. :/
Anyway, I leave the milk to microwave for two minutes so it gets super hot. One minute if I want it just warm. But my room is air conditioned so I want it to stay warm for as long as possible. After that, I added a spoon of honey. Yes, honey. Just a spoon though. Too much then it’s too sweet. I’ve always liked milk with honey. Magnolia used to make them into little bottles along with flavours like strawberries and chocolates. But for some reason, they are no longer around D:!
But honey milk warm is just so nice. I also heard milk promotes sleep that’s why you often see babies easily go to sleep. It’s the milk.
Tomorrow is a public holiday and I just found out today! I think I have been tricked into believing tomorrow is not a public holiday. But I have marked that down in my calendar and I forgot! I really should check my planner more often :/.
I have a few plans for tomorrow. Among my plans are to do some homework, go to the circus, go to the gym or jog at the library (I think the gym is likely-er), declutter my room, watch some movies, continue my stories and study some accounting.
That’s quite a lot huh? Before I make any selection I have to do some confirmation though. The circus won’t be around after Sunday so I have to make some quick decisions. Also, it doens’t help the fact that I don’t think the tickets are available on the spot. So phone calls are required. Fortunately, I am long over my fear of calling strangers. And besides, I have a group discussion on Saturday morning so I might not make it to my morning jog or the gym. But man, travelling takes so much fuel. I hate thinking about how much has the meter moved since I left home.
Eating out. Now that’s a topic I would really love to talk about. Lately, eating out is a norm for me. I eat out four days a week. That is pretty unavoidable. It’s either you eat out or starve. No compromise :/. The only weekday I don’t eat out is Wednesday because I have only one morning class then I’m off to the gym. When I come back, I eat at home.
Also, eating at the Swinburne cafe is still eating out. But the food there sucks. Wekk! (someone promised to show me karipap pusin-pusin there :P)
There’s usually several places I go to when eating out for lunch. There’s J&J, Simply Sedap, Chillipeppers and recently, Jojo Cafe. There are also the fast food variety which are conviniently nearby; McD, KFC, and Pizza Hut. But you only go to these places once every few weeks or if you’re just tired of rice. The thing with eating at a restaurant is, you feel kind of ‘weak’ and ‘dependent’ to the restaurant and its standards. I mean, you’re not in control of how good the food is, how much beef they put in your rice or how much they charge you for juice that’s half filled with ice. Sometimes, even if you make just a little change in your order, they charge you with full price or double the price which is unfair. Usually you just put up with it because you’re hungry and doesn’t have a lot of time. You only realized that you are paying for more than you should after you have eaten and are at the counter paying the bills. Only then do you start complaining about the bad food or services.
Like I said, it’s pretty unfair.
But all the places I listed above are pretty good. I have little complaints about them. If people ask me if I would reccomend these places, I would say yes. But just to see how good the service is at these places, try buying prawns. And ask if they could peel it for you. After that you should be able to judge their response by yourself.
Eating out is also expensive. I try to spend under ten ringgit when eating out. Rice and juice. That’s all. Sometimes when I’m feeling rebellious, I order a side dish of some veges and share with everyone. Sharing is caring hehehe. I feel sorry for those who have to eat out everyday especially when they live abroad in a hostel or something. Imagine having to spend averagely ten ringgit for one meal. And you have to eat at least three meals a day. That’s 30 ringgit. A month?
900 ringgit.
I have done these calculations before. Because I might be one of those having to eat out everyday due to living abroad. I mean, 900 ringgit a month on food alone? That’s ridiculous. But I guess you don’t really spend 30 ringgit a day on food alone now do you? Perhaps 25 or something. But since most people skip breakfast, that’s down to 20 ringgit. Okay, say you’re really cheap and spends on average 7 ringgit on each meal, and not eating breakfast, it’s around 14 ringgit a day then. So that’s 420 a month. It’s not as bad as 900 a month. But if all that money goes to food, what happens if you don’t have enough money for everything else? What about transportation and entertainment? Will you just result to eating peas till your next payday?
Thinking how much has the cost of living gone up makes me crazy. In the old days, people would frown when the price of rice with ginger beef is 4.50. But these days, that’s considered cheap. But when they are priced cheaply, the food is usually not good. See what I mean?
*sighs* I really envy those who live near Swinburne *shakes fist at Totchi*. They can easily go back during break time. Although I am looking forward to finishing my foundation in Swinburne and moving on to another university, I am not looking forward to all the eating out. There’s only so much a person can take.
Maybe I should just go to sleep now. But w00t! Someone I havent seen in a long time is on yahoo! Woo-hoo!
Ta’ra!
