My Brief Online Life

Monday, November 28th, 2005

Living up to its crappy reputation, Friendster lagged in updating my profile. I was sure I have updated my profile into the Mariah Carey and Cowduds theme instead of the old Mentosy one. But when I looked into it today its still the same old one. Gaaah!!!!

I like, so missing the internet. I want to go on IRC too but MSN and Yahoo are all I can manage for now. Thanks to my weird schedule I’m going back here at night. Heh. Great. But Im not complaining all that much. At least I can go on and do stuff online. Like check the stocks and update this crappy blog and…and…Four Seasons…*drools*

Oh yeah, about the post down below, I made it last night but made it sound like it was made today. But anyway, Muni leaves today so yeah, get yourself straighten out. And I write them out in MS Word when I copy pasted it to the blog it came out weird.

And Li Tiing is still weird.

Cramped Insanities Is Not Good For Health

Monday, November 28th, 2005

Another pre-made post. Anyway, who cares right? You my loyal fans will read it anyway. Hehehehehe. Let’s see what’s old…hmm, my connection is still desperately bad, I still follow a weird summer sem timetable, I still need more exercise, and Friendster is still crap. *grins*

Now let’s see what’s new. I’ve had a lot of get-togethers this past week. Yesterday I had some friends over for lunch. Mother’s idea, not mine. But what the heck – come over my deer friends! I mean dear friends hehehehe :D. Farida just got back from JB last Friday so yay! But Muni is going back to UIA today so, nay!

Right. We’re going to send her back afterwards. (Touched yet, muni??) Oh forget it. She’s not going to read this blog anyway. Thinking about this blog, I plan to change the layout after I reached my 100th post. (wonder when that is).  Also, if you’ve checked out my profile, you’ll see a lot of Mariah Carey and Cowduds. Well what can I say? These two things just ROCK! Also, I think the pics need serious updating. So here I am, with new pics!

Yay, some pics finally. Some are from raya and more recent ones are from the get-together I had lately. I’m actually grateful to the Swinburne open lab now hehehe.

Oh man, my financial status has been tight lately and to make it worse, I went out window shopping! *bites fingernails*. I know I know. If you go out window shopping you’ll just be looking at stuff you think you might need even though you don’t. So to make life easier, I made a little ‘wish list’. In my little blue notebook, you know the one that used to be my organizer? Its now just another notebook. Oh well, it served its purpose well. Anyway, about my wish list. I divided it into three columns. Column one I list stuff I really need like my TV cabinet, Proactiv face wash and a new pair of glasses for class (the ones I have now is tinted and isn’t meant for class). In the second column, are stuff that I can live without, but can make life easier. Like new weights, antenna for TV (the one I have I stole it from another TV hehehe) and shorts (yeah I need shorts and the ones I have now have long past their expiration dates). And in the third column is just stuff to spoil myself. These are things I want but don’t need. Like that perfume at Parkson.

So my main aim would be to fill out the ‘orders’ in the first column first. But what I found out is that I’m more keen in getting the stuff in the second column. That’s normal I guess. Because most of those stuff are currently on sale :D. But for now I won’t be looking at the third column. I’m so old school. I still use diskettes K. I wanted to get one of those 256 MB USB drive at the PC Fair, but I guess better to get a 1 GB instead. But that’s beyond my budget. *mutters mutters* I am not one to settle for mundane substitutes so I held off purchase until that time when I have to get laptops and USB drive. And that time will come.

What else to say? Oh yeah, the stock market. Skip this part if you’re not interested. Ahem. A bull run has been happening to most stocks. Probably leaving 2005 with higher gains. But now its too late to catch the bull run. The market is going for a reversal soon. Monday is the day to watch. Its going for a reversal which means its going to go down a bit, but afterwards go up again. A good opportunity for a brief put, but don’t expect a lot of gains I guess. When the reversal is done and the bull run continues, perhaps a call option is not a bad idea. But then again, nothing is 100% in the stock market.

Man.

Its been less volatile lately, but gaaaah what does it matter! Its not like I can go on and place orders! Stupid connection! *makes rude signs at streamyx!*

Anyway. I just finished a short story comic, a stand-alone story (I hope) of one of the characters in my long story. Its just 11 pages in one of those exercise books you can find at stationery shops. Now I wanna embark on a new one. I found that the best way to actually finish a story is to keep it short. When new ideas come, put it in the next series. It works.

So this is the end of another long post. You guys don’t mind do you? Hehehehe. Later!

Desperate Connection

Thursday, November 24th, 2005

This is a pre-made post. I usually post blogs at night before bed. When the day’s events are over and I can just pour them out before I go to bed. That’s my problem. I can’t stop thinking. Hey its good to have a working brain. Not bragging, but ideas just pop in my head like popcorn. I once tried to stop thinking for just a minute, but needless to say it was almost impossible (took all of me to do it! O_O). So like, I cleared my head and when I started looking at something, a little thought swam at the back of my mind…then more little thoughts, until finally it took over the gears of my mind and made it spin. Then it wont stop. Well Im not complaining, its God’s greatest gift after all and I got a lot of great ideas. Great ideas are well, great, they make me excited. But what happens when they still linger around when all that you want is to go to bed? You can’t sleep when your brain is doing 90 mph on the trademill (I think I used this line before).  That’s when it really gets frustrating. Even more annoying than mosquitoes kind of frustration. And lemme point out I savour the death of each and every mosquitoes I killed.
If you will allow me to complain, I think Friendster is stupid. I’m surprised they still let me stay on this site despite me keep insulting them. The site messes up a lot. And thanks to the abundance of graphics on the sign-in page (to make the page look pretty), loading takes more time than neccessary and usually take inexplicably long! Friendster needs to get smarter. Get a brain damnit!
Another thing. Mariah Carey is hawt! Or hot. Either way. At one point of the day ( a few days back) I was suddenly overwhelmed by her vocals. Yes, I have a new-found love for Mariah Carey. Anybody here against that? No? GOOD. You’d better not be.
Oh oh on Wednesday night I went celebrate my friends’ birthday. I forgot that one of them was one year older than us so there was one candle missing. There was only 6 of us, 7 including Audrey’s sister hehehe. You gotta admire the hardworking girl. I really wish I could have given those two a present each. Well four of us chipped in to buy them the birthday cake (American chocolate cake by special request, lol!). But I think birthdays come only once a year and for many it is a special day. And in regard to my new principles, everyone deserves a present on their birthday. They just do! Just too bad I was on the ‘dry season’. Im still dry, but Im budgeting. Everyone have their moments *grins*. But I have a list of people that I will give presents to starting from next year. And these people don’t need to look forward to receiving dust holders from me. These are quality, practical stuff that I’m giving. hehehehe.
…oh man…one thing has been bugging me since the start of the day. My butt. Its sore. I walk around all stiff-like. I blame the workout I did on Tuesday. Too intense? Who knows. But this is probably what I get for teasing my brother for walking funny after the circumcision hahahahaha. All he does is sit at home, throwing stupid jokes at everyone that only he recognizes as funny. Pfff. That’s boys for you. I already told him his jokes and remarks were not funny, but stupid. He knows. But he still kept doing it. Uh huh, go figure.
Hmm. I need more exercise. In conclusion, Mariah Carey is hot and that’s a fact. And this class is lame. Yeah we’re all crammed in the lab and the librarian is giving the presentaiton to herself. Pfff.

Delayed Post a-coming~

7-11-2005, Monday, fourth day raya.

A new semester begins! Will, begin actually. This week. Today! There’s been a lack of posts since raya starts. I’ll just give a quick update. This year is the first time my grandmother was not here for raya. She decides to raya in Miri this year. *sob sob*. But all is not lost. Wew managed to cover all the important relatives (grandparents’ siblings) houses on the first day. And that’s rare. Usually we go there at night but we got home not long after noon. So um, yay. Second day, we have an open house. Like always. And like always, we have all those unknown strangers that just pop out of nowhere into our house. Seriously, they marked our home on the second day of Eid just to get angpau or something. Hey, its not like we dont want having them here. But they just let themselves in, make themselves at home and wont leave until we give them money! And it didnt help the fact that most of them lack manners! This year its no longer my job giving away angpau :P. I have retired and enjoying my retirement by inviting MY friends over! Mwahahaha! But still, those weirdos keep coming. I can finally let someone else deal with them. And perhaps because I have grown up a bit and no longer held as much compassion for these weirdos, I just dont care anymore if they just sit there with no one tending to them after serving them drinks. The same goes for those kids. They dont seem to mind, why should we care, right? We are good to them and we let them eat and stuff. We do have people to tend to ourselves, btw. It would be rude to ignore the guests you invited. So yeah. That’s what I want to say. Some of them are even as shameless as to say "is your parents home? No, dont have to serve me drinks. I just want to ask for money". Sheesh. The nerve of these people! Don’t they have any pride? Self-esteem?? MANNERS?!
That just ticks me off. So that’s why I let my younger sister handles them. She’s a klutz and messes up a lot, but when it comes to them, who cares? AT least she still have the heart to feel compassions or whatever for them. Me I just dont care anymore. Call me arrogant or anything, but they werent sincere coming to our house in the first place. :P
The eve of the 2nd and 3rd day I slept late because I had to help out in the kitchen. Man, this is why I’m glad raya comes only once a year. Imagine having to do this often! *shrieks*. But ahem, I wanna thanks you guys for coming over hehehe. Maybe I can do the same to you on Chinese New Year eh? hehehehe. I can help you thrash the place. I didnt go out much today. Just one house. My cousin’s. She’s having an open house (on the 4th day? O.o) But its nice having open houses on the odd days where there are few people left to do open house. And laksa sarawak! Yum yum. Its nice when people you invite or people who said they are coming, keep their words. It just pisses you off big time when they don’t. You feel hur and betrayed especially when these people werent sorry. Dont they know people are expecting!? That’s just rude. I amde a point that if people didnt come to my house after I invite them or they dont keep their words, and not giving me a good reason, I will not return the visit. Trust me. Its better this way. :P

Im bummed!

Monday, November 21st, 2005

Man its over two weeks now but I still don’t have my connection. Im so bummed!!

Anyway I did some things to take my mind off things. Like my piling up emails. But I managed to reply the important ones. So thats settled. Even though it was still Swinburne’s pc. Err back to the story. Last Friday I went out and meet up with a couple of friends in town. The best part was walking there hehehe to make up for my lack of exercise lately. Even though I took the bus home I still had to walk some distance. Since the bus didnt exactly stop in front of my house heh. Even though I could have taken the bus that stops not far from my house (or stop in front of it if I want it to) The bus driver still recognize me after all these years! He’s got some memory…

Well Im off to a night cap! Later!

Skipped A Post…But what the hell, just move on.

Monday, November 14th, 2005

I have this post on raya I typed but saved it on notepad because I couldnt go online. I hope this isnt one of those times when my computer was the only one not going online. Like last time. *mutters unintelligible things* dont wanna talk about it. I am once again blogging from the uni library pc.

Anyway, raya was not bad overall. We had two open house days instead of one. Well we open the house whenever we’re home anyway. But now that the one week period is over, we still keep the biscuits in the living room. Hehehehehe. Good munching for TV hours heh. Besides, ours are all home-made except for the nuts. And we intentionally made enough for to last from before raya to after raya. They are quality stuff you know.

Lately with the absence of any computer entertainment, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my PS2. That thing is still collecting dust but at least its doing some work. (even though it still is just sitting there). The game Im playing right now, hm? Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana. A cute RPG game. It wont go high in the fun factor, but its one of those classic RPG and thats rare on the PS2. I could almost go through it without a Game Over and so far only one hehehe. Theres not a lot of boss fights. Unlike Final Fantasy when they sometimes just plunge you directly into a boss fight at the start of the game. I play this game more for the sake of playing and getting on with the story really. I need better games. Since its summer semester and I dont have much to do. I mean come on, I only wake up early in the morning for two  days!

Apart from gaming, I also been reading this book I bought during the fasting month. Its just one of those times when I feel worn out and old. Man. I’m 18 and I’m already feeling old? O_O. Of course, thats just me so to make myself feel alive again, I decided to teach myself new skills. So I bought this book: Blink: The Art of Thinking without Thinking. Wicked book. I read a bit of it after I bought it and put it on hold until yesterday. I usually spend my days playing the PS2 these days but yesterday I put that on hold and read the book. Im now at the last chapter of the book. Cant wait to finish it hehehe.

Oh to someone who just got back from JB, welcome back eh? I know exactly (wel not exactly but you get the idea) how you feel when you come back home. I love my room hehehe. Remember that plan about the video game shop I told you about man? It wont work with that one. The are only taking in full-timers. And Mr. Leaf, I prolly have to search other places to ‘get sweat on those brows’ :P. Strangely, I get more sweat on the brows when working out rather than doing well, just working.

Hmmm that reminds me. Theres a double fish tank in the TV room where I workout and the flowerhorn at the lower tank always look at me when I go in there and start working out. Its weird. I thought that fish had monoscopic visions then why is it looking at me with the front of its head? O.o

I think its about time I go back now. class finished almost an hour ago. I have class again later today at 5:30 so for now…hmm, might as well go and finish that book.

Ta’ra!

P/s An old friend suddenly emailed me today. Damn it man. Its been ages!
