Pics Galore! …Or however you speel it

Tuesday, October 11th, 2005

So here it is! The better, latter post! Its loaded with pics from the Prom Nite. Prom was on a very unstrategic night too. Sunday night! We got class the next morning!! O_O But my sis and I stayed at the Riverside own so we dont have to worry about transport. Oh yeah, we got it for free :D. Some privilege coupon or something. Anyway, the Prom was great. Although the ‘foot loose’ time or in another word, people take to the dance floor time, was not so great. Still great music though, at the later parts. A lot of preparations were needed for the Prom. First we have to get the dress, then tickets, book tables (optional) and for makeup for those girls. Heh, even guys go to salons. Its got some of the wackiest hairdos I’ve even seen. FreakyhairErrr, the pic is like so to protect the hair owner. No, no. He’s not up to anything shady. Hehehehe. The guys put glitters in their hair. Its weird, but looks cool anyway. Maybe they wanna go with that theme. ‘Hollywood Stars’. Opening Not a bad opening ceremony. The Student Council pulled it off pretty nicely. Girlprom So after all the eating, we went to the back of the hall and took pics of each other hehehe. After all, who knows if I’ll be coming to this event again next year. Now I need to point this out. I don’t usually dress like that. That’s a first time. And probably last. Look, I’m just a person still looking for my identity *sage nods*. I’ll fall somewhere in between soon. Besides, dressing up is fun, once in a while. *secrely swears never to dress like that again*. The others look great! They spent some time at the salon so easy for them. I use a local makeup artist hehehe. Man, I really stick out.

Oh yeah, Ezra was performing that night! Check this out! Ezra_on_stage Those cornrows were quite a hit that night. His cousin made it. For a fee. Hehehehe. He and his group. They performed two songs. Great show Ezra! hehehe. Ezra_feel He’s fee~ling it. Hitting those high notes take quite an effort huh?

So after all the formalities and the lucky draws are done with, its time for the Foot Loose!  Dancing_1 See Owen doing the Pengine dance…or something. Everyone else was dancing at the front, these people were shaking their thing at the back. Hehehe. Its quite dark. And my cam’s flash isnt bright enough. So there you have it.

Oh, I forgot to mention. There was also a fashion show that night. The models are all Swinburne students and the clothes were designed by a lecturer. She also runs a boutique. The dresses are pretty. But the guys’ garments look pretty ordinary :P. The models? They are not bad themselves.

The Prom was two days ago. On recent events, the next morning, I woke up at like, 8:20? Man was I late. I took a shower, ironed my veil and rushed out to class. Drove from Riverside to Swinburne. I arrive at around 8:50. Luckily, there was still one more seat left. Usually once class starts, its full and you have to bring in tables and chairs from other classes. Like I said, I was lucky. When I poked my head into class that morning, someone abruptly said "Oh, a Prom Night victim!"

Hahahaha. Well not really. Stupid phone didnt sound! Remind me not to use that phone as an alarm clock again. Glad that I have only one two-hour class that morning. Some people didnt come to class at all. So plenty of time to sleep, right? Sort of. AFter class I went back to the hotel and checked out with my sis. We went around SP for a while and went back at 12. Then I have to drive my sis to class at 130 and pick her up at 330. So I didnt get much sleep. But, better than none at all.

We have math test today. And I found out that I have a super human frustration recovery rate. Amazing…

Anyway, that’s all for my blathers today. So like, ta’ra!

I miss my room

Sunday, October 9th, 2005

I’m only away for one night and I already miss my room hehehe. Its hard getting to sleep anywhere else without my boldster *grins*. I plan to put a lot of pics but I’m not in the mood. Better a later, better post than an earlier, mediocre post right? So, nothing much to say for now. Sorry for the false alarm guys hehehe.

*poof*

My Nose Just Grew Feet

Friday, October 7th, 2005

*sneezes* Man my nose is all over the place. Why? Because its runny! Gaah been sneezing since I woke up this morning! Is it because of the time? I wasnt sneezing so bad when I was in Swinburne. Its after the meal that I started sneezing my butt off. Well, technically speaking my butt is still intact. BUT! You got it dont you? It makes praying difficult. "Oh no its running down my nose" and makes you instantly reach for the tissue box the moment you say ’salam’. *eyes the pile of tissues on her desk*

On to trading. I placed a lot of orders on Put options (the one you buy when expecting a down market). The stock market is going bearish. I have never been so happy looking at a down market. Hahahaha. Go down, down, DOWN, baby! mwahahahaha. The Weekly Trade Navigation Service report just came and I instantly made some orders based on those reports. Although I dont do Spreads, I only buy for now because I want to keep my costs below $1000. Some of them are already making money. While others need a little more patience. You gotta love American-style trading man.

Throughout this week I found the pleasures of reading the newspaper. O.o. I know its quite late for some of you who are already into reading the papers. But now I look forward to a good hour or two in the library just reading the News Straits Times. Since there’s only one copy of the NST in the library, you really need to stalk it and grab it the first moment its ‘abandoned’. I prefer reading an English newspaper, and a national one. The NST is the only one that fits that criteria. Although the local ones like Sarawak Tribune or the Borneo Post is useful when shopping for stuff hehehe.

I’m at wits end on what else to say. Happy fasting! Ta’ra!

Quote Aplenty

Thursday, October 6th, 2005

Have you heard of the term ‘hell-bent on getting something’? I’m actually referring on the hell-bent part. I sometimes hear someone whos hell-bent on getting a job, money, achieve something or other. And the level of these things are quite impressive and almost impossible to get. So when you say ‘Sean is hell-bent in getting porns’ it also translate into, ‘Sean would do anything to get porns’. I’m sure at some point of our lives, we are, or will, or had our hell-bent moments. Like getting straight As for SPM, pursuing our ideal partners, buying a gorgeous top at Giordano, etc.

I’m sure I had. And I have a few more coming. But I just don’t like the term. Hell-bent? Why would I wanna go to Hell? God, no! I guess it is a subtle expression. Because it means you are extremely committed into doing or getting something it doens’t matter what obstacles lay before you. "Come what may!" is your motto. You’re filled with endorphin and ready to take on anything!

Sounds impressive huh? But that can happen. And it had. Many times, over the course of history. The beauty of it is that its possible. Like a quote from Nepoleon Hill: ‘whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, the hand of mind can achieve’. That especially refers to those people who are in the ‘hell-bent’s category.

Lately I’ve been thinking of things that I am hell-bent on getting them. And things I’m hell-bent to achieve. ‘Do it or die trying’. I like that one hehehe. I remember a quote I found in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, it goes like this : ‘The real tragedy is the tragedy of a man who never in his life braces himself for one supreme effort - he never stands up to his full capacity, never stands up to his full stature ‘ - Arnold Bennet.

I can’t agree more.

And if you fail? Remember this one : ‘Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man’s doing but myself‘ - Elaine Maxwell. Think about it. Your failure or success comes from within you. Its like a yes and no question. Do you want it or you dont want it. Ni yao pu yao. If you want it, you’ll instantly find the strenght to achieve it, the hell-bent feeling on getting that success. If you don’t want it, you’ll settle for the mediocre and let situations and other people control you. You’ll find every reason and excuse in the world to not do it. For this kind of poeple, anything is fine. And heck no - I dont ever want to be one of this people.

And if you ever need help on getting that success, synergize! Rope up with friends or other people with similar interests and goals. Keep in mind that synergy doesn’t just happen. Its a process. You have to get there. - The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens.

For once I’m not balthering my daily anecdotes eh? My dad’s back today. He’s been away for a while. I need a refill of my funds :|. So, good night! Oh and before I go, check out this link!

Belated celebration!

Wednesday, October 5th, 2005

Oooh man! I forgot to celebrate my 60th post! Yay! *celebrates!* Hahahaha. Its so funny when I thought blogging was a place for people to bore others with boring anecdotes of their pets. But now here I am, doing my 61st post! Funny how life goes eh hehehe.

Today’s the first day or Ramadhan! Yay! Its more fun when everyone else is fasting too. I’ve always fased alone and its no fun. And those bazaars…yumyumyum. *drools*

I really have to put my hat down to my team members. They are simply great when working on an assignment. I know I always tell them stuff I dont want to do, but those things always get back to me. I still have to finalize everything -_-" uhhh the pleasure of being the leader. I dont know if we’re going to have anymore IT assignments after this though. I hope this is the last one. We still have one more assesment for Oral not long from now and then there’s Reading test this Friday. Uugh. Life can’t get any better.

Now I have this thought that I rallied to my friend Omar. Not a bad thought eh Omar? The location is not bad too. Hehehehe. Okay I seriously have nothing else to say. Happy Fasting.

Ta’ra.

…ZzZzZzzZZZZZZZzzz

Think of things that lead to more thinking makes you think ‘what the hell am I thinking?’, dont you think so?

Sunday, October 2nd, 2005

Man, its one of those days when I think too much. Too much for my own good. And don’t get me started on what I was thinking. When I start thinking about a lot of stuff, I start thinking of doing a lot of stuff to counter them. So thinking leads to more thinking! Aaaarrgghhh!!! Does it ever stop!??!

Somebody told me that my blog posts were too long. Heh!- live with it. Its my blog and I can do whatever I want and I didnt actually force you to read you know. Although the thought of it tempts me. hehehe.

Ah yes, Ramadhan is coming. I’m thinking (again, thinking) of playing some nostalgic games. Like, Suikoden 2 :D. I finished that game for the first time during Ramadhan so I’m very attached to that game. I remembered walking into the kitchen right after I finish that game for breaking of fast. And right on time too. In addition to being my number one favorite game, that game holds a lot of memories for me. Not to mention the intriguing storyline that became the base of most of my earlier stories.

But man, if I’m playing Suikoden 2 again I will be neglecting all those wonderful PS2 games I have. You know, the ones gathering dust in the corner. Yeah, those! I bought those games during my one year long sabbatical from the PS2. Mostly because I don’t have a TV to play it on and because I have SPM that year. Even if there was a TV in my room that time, chances are, I won’t be playing it. I lose interest in it when I think of things coming. So now my PS2 is degraded into a DVD player. I seriously need to play more games outside the Suikoden series. I played Kingdom Hearts and FFX halfway…err no, not even half. More like. halfway through the beginning of the game. Cant almost count FFX because my cousin plays most of the parts anyway and yeah, he finished the game already. We played through FF8 together and it was fun. Getting cheats, finishing off bosses and getting new GFs, all that lot. Hehehehe.

The good old days~

I watched this Chinese movie on channel 30 today. The Moving Target. It was a movie about cops. It started off with 4 super good looking cops. 2 of them are best friends and the other 2 were their juniors. You only see them acting cool together at the start of the movie. Damnit. Should have more cool scenes. The movie didn’t end quite bitterly though. 2 of them got killed in the movie, including the main character’s best friend (who was the most handsome of the four). He married the main char’s ex-gf (without any heart feelings between the three) and died when his wife was pregnant. So at the end of the movie, his kid was about 3 or 4 years old, asking his mom how his father was. The main char appeared and said his dad was a wonderful cop. So his kid replied that he wanted to be a cop too when he grows up. And I’ll tell ya this, he’s going to die honorably in the line of duty too one day. And the cycle continues.

*sighs*

Ah well, at least he had a handsome father. HEHEHEHEHEH.

This movie didn’t quite give me that spark of inspiration I was looking for in every movie I watch, but it did give me some ideas. Minor ideas, but the movie itself has been very entertaining. So its not a total waste of time. Although I could be doing something better. Like working out.

Not that I’m complaining. But right now I think its about time to stop thinking and go to bed. Good night!

p/s Dont you know that your brain is most active when you are sleeping? Weird…

The ma’am got me doing the report. So no blogging now. Report calls! *poof*
