Survey, anyone?
Thursday, September 29th, 2005Lately I’ve been filling in way too many survey that I’ve been avoiding the library and whenever I see someone handing out questionaires, I pick up my books, hide my face and walk away. Why? Because the one handing them out is my friend who acts as the ‘agent’ and if she sees me she would definitely give me one. Or ask her friends to give me. Ugh. Its not that I dont like her. Nothing like that at all! Its just that, one or two once in a while is okay, but one every trip?! That’s too much!!
Also, the questionaires are from semester 2 foundation students mostly. So I guess its part of their assignment. I’ve had questionaires about langguage, online lifestyle, computer uses and some others I dont care to remember. But today was the cream of the crop I say. At the end of IT lecture, Victor handed us over to the admins people who came out of nowhere and handed us a bunch of questionaires to fill. We fill one sheet for one lecturer or tutor we have. I filled in like 6 sheets while others fill in 5. I have 5 lecturers and 1 tutor. That tutor is Miss Antionette who is not a lecturer since she only handles two of the four IT tutes. All of my lecturers, including my tutor, got good marks, except two. Namely Victor and Miss Mary, who teaches us Reading For Academic Purposes (and why the hell do we have to learn how to read anyway!?). I put a lot of SD (Strongly Disagree) options that carries only 1 mark in the questionaire :P. One of my friends even go "woah, that’s harsh!" Hey I’m just expressing my opinion. She, too, doesn’t like that lecturer (almost all of us don’t, really). Its not her, (sorta) but its how she teach. She doesn’t teach! That’s what her problem is. And I’m a good student *adjusts her halo* and I don’t like walking out of a class thinking that I haven’t learn anything.
Mind you, I made a point to have learned something each time I go to a tute, or a lecture. At the end of each survey sheet, they put this large box that took half of the lower part of the paper for you to write any comments on the lecturer. For Victor I wrote "No comment. Keep up the good work" Yeah right. And Mary, I simply put "No comment" In my opinion, this is going soft. But for my other 3 lecturers and tutor, I put stuff like "I like Miss Janice :D" And yeah, I did include a little grinning face too.
And Miss Antionette was something like "Nobody can read off the slides like she can." Hahahaha.
Today I had like, 2 glasses of carrot juice. That Power Juicer works. But the pulp aren’t dry. Partly because the fruit was wet when I stuff them in. It still leaves a lot of pulp but you stll get 30% more juice. Its not like I bother to count, but usually the same amount of carrot I used to fill up a glass of the previous juicer, I used less to fill up my glass this time. So not 100% customer satisfaction from me, but at least you dont have to cut so much. And it doesnt get stuck like some other juicer. But the part I dislike the most is cleaning it afterwards. Theres so many pieces and pulps and stuff. :/
I actually have homework, but let’s talk about some random wisdom here. Let’s talk about relationships. I notice that wherever you go, you are bound to find girls in groups. And one thing I notice is that, no matter how close they seem, or how close they say they are, there’s always that event when they would talk about each other behind their backs. I’m not lying. Its the truth. I even asked my other friends if they had experienced it. Most snorted and said "of course!" or something equivalent to it. So is this like a trend? Usually when one member of the ‘group’ goes and talks to someone outside the group or starts talking to only one member, they are usually talking about one of their ‘friends’ and trust me, they are certainly not complementing the girl’s hair. when they come to me and start acting like that, I say "aren’t you two are like, close?" the usual reply I get is "Yeah, but she’s like this, like that." To be honest, I feel sorry for these people. I mean, they are supposedly friends right? SO why can’t tell it to her? If she had done soemthing wrong, tell her. If not, she will be oblivious to it and keep doing the same thing. What would be more embarrassing? Your close friend or some guy on campus comes up to you and tell you there’s something hanging in your nose?
The answer to that should be obvious. Although to me, if I really mess up I always allow only this one person to give me a telling off. Some other people can do so, but none of them could do it as graceful as she does :P. The point is, its better if someone you are close to to point out your mistakes than someone you barely know. Imagine if some guy you don’t know suddenly come up to you and say "You’re such a snob! Who do you think you are anyway? You dress like a clown!" You could immediately go something like this "You idiot! What do you know about me anyway?" But imagine if someone you respect or a close friend say that to you, in the same tone. For sure you would heed her words. Or in the least, take it into consideration. Just imagine this happening to you and you’ll understand what I mean. Instead of telling everyone else about your friend’s fault, or even discussing it, tell her damn it! She won’t change unless she knows what was wrong!
Communication breakdowns can cause devastating outcomes.
Not saying I didn’t learn. I learned. And learned I did!
So on to trading! I bought some more options yesterday. Some calls on CHK. I couldnt help it really. I must say that I’m not as expert as Mr. Foong and I’m driven mostly by isntincts and how ‘pretty’ the chart is. Although one thing that makes me worried is those options I bought and sold in IBM. The Moving averages indicates a bearish market but its been going up the last two days….that I will have to wait and see. Seems like Microsoft and IBM are supposed to go down but the chart for now is heading ‘north’. That’s why I like virtual trading. Real market, fake money. Hehehehe. The only way to do it is to just do it. I used up all of my virtual fund (can add more if I want) and bought whatever options I want. From there I watch if my predictions are right. Its easy to know if you’re right or not. If you’re making money, you’re right. If not, then you’re wrong. Its so simple. But I must say, I’m glad I bought those Puts from Microsoft despite everyone else not wanting to (Including Annie :P). Because, not long after…it went down. Like, way down. Check this out http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SC.web?c=MSFT,uu[m,a]daclyyay[pb50!b20][vc60][iUb14!La12,26,9]&pref=G see the long lines of red bars through out of September? Yeah, that’s where I made money. *grins* Virtual money, but still money. If only I had put down real money instead hehehe.
If all goes well, I might be ready to trade with real money by the end of next year! YAY! The Four Seasons awaits me!!!
One last topic! Fitness! Yes, fitness! Through random reading, I found out that fitness measures not how fast you can run, how heavy you can lift or how strong your resistance is. Its actually the your body’s rate of recovery from doing these activities. To find out if you’re fit or not, try run around all day (like doing treasure hunts at the cultural village) and not stretch afterwards. See if you have cramps the next day. *snickers* I didn’t. And I know I should have stretched afterwards but I didn’t and I didn’t have cramps too the next day. So that means, not trying to brag (or maybe just a little) that I’m fit. *big toothy grin* while my two other, ahem, team members got cramps. I do workout often and challenged my muscles to constant resistance exercises. That treasure hunt activity has been a great indicator and motivator. Now I know all those hard days are paying off! Just like my options trading! Yay! This kind of moment makes me want to hug someone. Oh well, why not right? *hugs her boldster(gulin)* Hehehehe. Oh and the most important person of all!!!! Myself! *hugs herself* Hahahaha.
Oh and another thing. I was reading the papers today, at the Siwnburne library. I had a 2 hour break before my next class so I spent the first hour reading papers (just updating myself on the plight of the ‘iron lady’ concerning the APs) and on current events. I like the complaints page or the letters to the editors page the most. In one of the articles by one of the newpaper’s journalists, it said something about the Malaysian Bad Habits and stuff like the ‘Malaysian time’ and how we could casually stroll into a ceremony that started an hour earlier.
Something interesting she added at the end of the article was ‘National reason for coming late to work: traffic jam, National Reason for getting a sick chit: flu, National reason for women to skip work: menstrual pain, National cure for headaches: Panadol and National cure for headache if Panadol doesn’t work: Minyak Angin Cap Kapak. National Reason for getting a traffic jam for no reason: Slowing down to watch an accident at the other side of the road.
LOL ROTFL oh my God the last one was SO Malaysian! Hahahaha!!! You just gotta love this country.
And speaking of surveys, does anyone think this blog is even interesting? And what about this whole blog on the overall? 5-Very interesting, 4-interesting 3-okay, 2-not bad 1-err no comment.
Lol, just kidding! Although I do appreciate comments *grins*
Ta’ra!
